Marvelous and Most High God

Mighty and Most High God, You are the ruler over the realm of mankind and bestow it upon whoever You wish (see Daniel 4:17, 25, 32). Your dominion is an everlasting dominion, and Your kingdom endures from generation to generation (see Daniel 4:34b). We are glad and grateful for extending Your grace and goodness to us by blessing us with the privilege of dwelling in the land of the living in the month of August 2021. It’s all because of Your grace and goodness to us. To You, therefore, be the praise and honor and “the glory, both now and to the day of eternity” (2 Peter 3:18b, ESV).

You’ve watched over Your word

At the beginning of July 2021, we rejoiced and reveled in Your blessed promise: “I am watching over My word to perform it” (Jeremiah 1:12, NASB). We can honestly testify that many are Your words You’ve watched over and performed for us in July 2021. You were a very present help in trouble for us. In the trials we faced in it, You sustained and strengthened us. Great, O LORD, is Your faithfulness unto us! You have been and will be good to us. Gracious Lord, You have our best interest at heart. Your desire for us is to experience and enjoy Your very best, not only in this life, but also in the life soon to come!

Heavenly Father, we entrust our lives to You

Therefore, Heavenly Father, it is with glad and grateful hearts, that we entrust our lives to You in the new month of August 2021 – admitting that You know its end before its beginning. Thank You Lord for the opportunities You will be giving us in August 2021 to use the spiritual gifts You’ve graciously given us. Faithful Lord, it’s our firm conviction that You will be ordering our steps and orchestrating circumstances and events in our lives to accomplish Your divine purposes for our lives in all of August 2021.

Your word will be a lamp unto our feet

Also, we bless You that in August 2021, Your word will be a lamp unto our feet and a light to our path (see Psalms 119:105). It’s also our unshakable hope that, You, our loving Father, will deal with us according to Your lovingkindness in the new month of August 2021 (see Psalms 119:124). We are confident that You, our God, will cause all things to work together for good to those who love You (see Romans 8:28) during the month of August 2021. Indeed, Righteous Father, we are grateful for such unceasing, unchanging, unconditional, undying, unending, unfailing, unlimited, and unwavering love, care and concern for our well-being.

We joyfully draw near to the throne of grace

Because of Your unwavering love and care for us, we joyfully and jubilantly “draw near to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16, NASB). Our great need is that without Your good hand upon our lives (see Ezra 7:6, 28; 8:18, 22), we cannot survive let alone thrive in living for You and serving Your purpose in the new month of August 2021.

We cannot survive or thrive without Your direct involvement in our lives

Since we know that we cannot survive or thrive without Your direct involvement in our lives, we cheerfully and confidently dedicate August 2021 to You in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Merciful Father, please, in Your kindness and compassion, accomplish what concerns our families, our friends and fellow-believers, and us; Israel – Your consecrated and chosen nation; Your Church – that is, Your cleansed and called-out ones, and Your world – made up of all the countries and the lands You created under the heavens – for the glory of Your majestic and mighty name.

We earnestly implore You to deliver us

Since Your name is majestic and mighty, we earnestly implore You to deliver us from all evil according to Your promise in Psalms 121:6. Lord of all, draw near to us as we draw near to You (see James 4:8). Defender of the defenseless, according to Your will for us, defend our cause all throughout the entirety of August 2021. Oh gracious Father, please deal bountifully with us during the month of August 2021 that we might have a fresh testimony to declare to Your glory (see Psalms 13:6; 142:6b)!

Lord, direct us

Majestic One, destroy the works of the devil against us (see 1 John 3:8). Lord, our guide in this life and in the life soon to come, direct us in the path on which You desire for us to walk in this month. Mighty One of Israel, defeat all our enemies and dismantle all their evil schemes against us. Revealer of secrets, please disclose Yourself to us (see John 14:21). Father, lovingly discipline us when we go astray – with the understanding that You are doing so for our good and for us to share in Your holiness (see Hebrews 12:7-10).

We anticipate Your gracious work

Precious Father, as we anticipate Your gracious work of delivering and dealing bountifully with us, enable us, by Your Holy Spirit, to desire more of You in our lives in this month of August 2021. Depend more and more on You, not on ourselves. Devote ourselves to prayer (see Acts 1:14; Colossians 4:2). Deny ourselves and take up our cross and follow Jesus and deny ungodliness (see Matthew 16:24; Titus 2:12).

Let us delight ourselves in the Lord

Also, let us delight ourselves in the Lord, knowing that as we do so, You will give us the desires of our heart (Psalm 37:4). Discern the voice of the Good Shepherd and follow Him, not another (see John 10:4-5). Above all, empower us by Your Spirit to declare the gospel with great confidence and conviction of heart – knowing that “it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16, ESV).

You are a prayer answering God

True and trustworthy God, because we know that You are a prayer answering God – answering prayer that is according to Your will, we present our petitions to You not “on account of any merits of our own, but on account of Your great compassion. O Lord, hear!…O Lord, listen and take action” (Daniel 9:18-19, NASB)! Blessed Lord, we count on You to continue to love us freely, answer us and look after us (see Hosea 14:4, 8b). To You, “the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen” (Romans 16:27, ESV).
