On this Independent Day, we thank the Lord of the nations, for blessing the United States of America with 246 years of existence and freedom as a nation under God. On this great and glorious milestone in the history of the United States of America, it is appropriate to recall what the Scripture says. It says: “And he made from one man every nation of mankind to live on all the face of the earth, having determined allotted periods and boundaries of their dwelling place, that they should seek God, and perhaps feel their way toward him and find him. Yet he is actually not far from each one of us, for ‘In him we live and move and have our being’” (Acts 17:26-28, ESV).

God deserves all the praise

For this reason, “God who made the world and everything in it, being Lord of heaven and earth” (Acts 17:24, ESV), deserves all the praise for all the blessings the United States of America has enjoyed as a free nation from 1776 till now. Why? It was God who made the United States of America a nation. He determined her appointed times on earth – that is how long she will exist as a nation on earth. God also set her boundaries. His purpose for her and for all other nations is for them to seek Him and find Him.  Indeed, how blessed the USA is!

I wish all my American friends Happy Fourth of July

Because of this, today, as Americans in the USA and all around the globe celebrate this great occasion, I would like to take this opportunity to wish all my American friends and fellow-believers in the land of the free and the home of the brave, a REALLY HAPPY AND HEARTY FOURTH OF JULY. It’s  also my prayer that God’s hand of mercy will continue to be upon the USA – leading to repentance, spiritual awakening, and hunger to seek God and find Him. May the love of Christ prevail over hatred, hostility, and hopelessness in the land of the free and home of the brave!

May the truth of God rule and reign

Not only that, Oh may it be that the peace of Christ will trump and temper the poisonous political divisiveness, passionate wrangling without humbly  and honestly listening to the other side, and all prejudice and pride! Above all, may the truth of God rule and reign in the USA – triumphing over the lies and deception of the devil, who is “the father of lies” (John 8:44, ESV)! Indeed, the triumphing of truth over lies is the greatest freedom a nation can celebrate and covet in such a time as this. For our Lord Jesus Himself said: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free” (John 8:32, ESV). Since Jesus Himself is the truth, He adds: “So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed” (John 8:36, ESV). This means true and lasting freedom is best experienced and enjoyed in Christ!
