Merciful and Marvelous Father

Merciful and Marvelous Father, we magnify You and marvel at You for extending Your kindness to us. Truly, marvelous is Your kindness to us! For, You, have not only been with us all throughout September 2025, but You have now brought us into a new month. October 2025! Indeed, Your “mercies are great” (2 Samuel 24:14; NASB), lifting us out of our many distresses and difficulties in life. We confess that, like David, we bring these distresses and difficulties upon ourselves because of our selfish and sinful choices. But the greatness of Your mercies are such that we are not consumed by Your righteous anger against our selfish and sinful choices.

You are so merciful to us

O how grateful we are, that You are so merciful to us! We cannot thank You enough for choosing to restrain Yourself from giving us the punishment we really deserve for our sinful choices. Moreover, You go a step further, to give us Your great goodness and blessings which we really don’t deserve! O Lord, You are so gracious to us!  Your grace is abundant and abounding upon us!

Which of the gods…can we compare with You?

Indeed, which of the gods of the nations can we compare with You? Certainly, we say; there is none. In fact, You Yourself confidently declared that You are in a distinguished class all by Yourself. “To whom then will you liken Me that I would be equal his equal? Says the Holy One” (Isaiah 40:25; NASB). “I am God, and there is no other; I am God, and there is no one like Me” (Isaiah 46:9b; NASB).

Merciful and Marvelous Father, the prophet Isaiah asked

Merciful and Marvelous Father, the prophet Isaiah asked: “To whom then will you liken God? Or what likeness will you compare with Him?” (Isaiah 40:18; NASB). His answer revealed that an idol, fashioned by a craftsman, is not worth comparing with You (see Isaiah 40:19-20). Forever, O Lord, You are in a distinguished class all by Yourself. Indeed, You are “a great God and a great King above all gods” (Psalms 95:3; NASB). “You are the Lord Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods” (Psalm 97:9; NASB).

You, O Lord, alone deserve to be magnified

As such, You, O Lord, alone deserve to be magnified. Yes, You, alone deserve to be honored above all! Indeed, You alone, O Lord, are to be worshiped both now and for all eternity! You are spirit, and those who worship You must worship You in spirit and truth (see John 4:24). For You seek true worshipers who will worship You in spirit and truth (see John 4:23). But Father, we confess that our worship of You has not been as You desired. We have not been worshiping You in spirit and truth. Sadly, our worship of You has become “noise” to You. In fact, through the prophet Amos, You told Israel to take away from You the noise of their songs. “Take away from Me the noise of your songs; I will not even listen to the sound of your harps” (Amos 5:23; NASB).

Please Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness

Please Lord, we ask for Your forgiveness for failing to be the true worshipers You are desiring. We have gone astray from the way You have chosen for us. We have made the worship of You merely about our preferences. Truly, we are so thankful that You are “a God of forgiveness, gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in lovingkindness” (Nehemiah 9:17b; NASB). Moreover, You are “faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness” (1 John 1:9; NASB).

Merciful and Marvelous Father,…we commit our cause to You

Merciful and Marvelous Father, because You are a forgiving God, we commit our cause to You in October 2025. You know its end from its beginning. Indeed, nothing will happen in this month without passing through Your hand. You, O Lord, will be orchestrating all the circumstances in our lives in October 2025 to accomplish Your divine purposes for our lives. Therefore, please, O Lord, accomplish what concerns our families, friends, and us in the new month of October 2025!

King of Israel, please bring to pass

Also, “King of Israel” (John 12:13), please bring to pass Your beloved and beyond-belief blessings for Israel – Your chosen and cherished nation. As well, Lord of the Church, carry out Your cherished and choice counsels for Your Church – Your consecrated and called-out people. And O, “Lord of all the earth” (Zechariah 6:5), please deal with Your world according to all Your divine and determined desires! A world made up of all the nations and the lands You created under the heavens!

King of Israel, we lift up the nation of Israel to You

Now, O “King of Israel,” we lift up the nation of Israel to You in such a time of this! Our heart’s desire and our prayer to You for them is for their salvation (see Romans 10:1). According to Your own word, “a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in” (Romans 11:25b; NASB). But this is not the final end of Israel – Your chosen and cherished nation. At Your appointed time and way, a day will come when “all Israel will be saved” (Romans 11:26a; NASB). For, “the deliverer will come from Zion, He will remove ungodliness from Jacob” (Roman 11:26b; NASB).

Merciful and Marvelous Father, we earnestly pray

Therefore, Merciful and Marvelous Father, we earnestly pray, hasten the day when “all Israel will be saved.” As Your word has clearly and convincingly taught us, salvation is found only in Jesus Christ – “the Savior of the world” (John 4:42; NASB). Since, faith alone in Jesus alone, opens the door of entering the sphere of salvation, please enable Israel to believe in Jesus. Please, grant that they will hear the word of faith, and believe in their heart that You raised Jesus from the dead, and be saved (see Romans 10:9).

We pray to You

Also, we pray to You, O God of Israel (1 Kings 8:26) for the strengthening of the few believers in Israel. Today, few in Israel believe in Jesus, the Messiah [Yeshua HaMassiach]. Moreover, the few who believe in the Messiah face many challenges. They are persecuted. Slandered. They are opposed by those who do not believe in the Messiah. Some are ridiculed and reviled for their faith in the Messiah. Indeed, without Your sustaining grace, they cannot stand in the face of these challenges.

We beseech You, O God of Israel

Therefore, we beseech You, O God of Israel. Please, strengthen them through the power of Your Holy Spirit! Sustain them to stand firm in the midst of these challenges! Support them and be their support in their struggles! Surround them with Your favor as with a shield (see Psalm 55:12)! And please, O Lord, supply all their needs in the midst of all their challenges (see Philippians 4:19)! Also, supply them with Your abundant and abounding grace, to bless; when reviled! Endure; when persecuted! Entreat; when slandered (see 1 Corinthians 4:12-13)!

Merciful and Marvelous Father, we pray for Your Church

And now, Merciful and Marvelous Father, we pray for Your Church in our day! We thank You for Your promise of building Your Church. That is: “I will build My Church; and the gates of Hades will not overpower it” (Matthew 16:18; NASB). Because the building of the Church is Your plan and promise, she will not only survive; but also thrive. Yes, she will thrive in fulfilling Your divine purpose for her in such a time as this! Indeed, because of Your commitment to building Your Church, she will be victorious! She will reach her fullest potential for the praise of Your glory!

We pray for Your Church

As such, we pray for Your Church today! Please, Holy Spirit, enable Your Church to depend fully on the Lord in such a time as this! Your word declares: “Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit, says the LORD of hosts. What are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you will become a plain…” (Zechariah 3:6b-7a; NASB). We confess that Your Church cannot fulfill Your divine purpose by relying on her human might and power. No! Not at all! The arm of flesh will fail her. Therefore, she desperately needs to depend fully on You. For only then, can the divine and supernatural power of Your Holy Spirit work through her to accomplish Your purpose. In fact, our Lord Jesus Himself made this crystal clear to His first disciples in His Upper Room Discourse. “I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing” (John 15:5; ESV). Your Church, must therefore, depend fully on Him!

Lord, we also pray for Your Church to delight in You Yourself

Lord, we also pray for Your Church to delight in You Yourself in these last days, in which we live. In fact, Your word exhorts us to delight in You. It says: “Delight yourself in the LORD; and He will give you the desires of your heart” (Psalm 37:4; NASB). We acknowledge to You that our hearts are prone to wandering. As such, our hearts’ delights and desires are centered on the things of this world. Such as the riches of this world! The pleasures of this life! The love of the world! Sadly, these worldly “delights and desires” rob Your Church from faithfully delighting in You Yourself! Not only that, they rob Your Church from living up to her full potential and making a difference for Christ.

Merciful and Marvelous Father, enable Your Church

Also, Merciful and Marvelous Father, enable Your Church today to declare Your gospel without fear or favor. We live in an age in which the gospel message is being vigorously opposed and overshadowed. In this age, people are not enduring sound teaching. Rather, having itching ears, they accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions (see 2 Timothy 4:3). But Your Church exists today to spread the gospel. For the gospel “is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek” (Romans 1:16; NASB). Moreover, it is in Your gospel alone that; “the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith” (Romans 1:17; NASB). As such, Your Church cannot fail in declaring Your good news in such as time as this. Therefore, O Lord, rekindle our passion for declaring Your good news in our day.

Lord of all the earth, we pray for Your world

And now, “Lord of all the earth” (Zechariah 6:5), we pray for Your world. Indeed, praying for the unbelieving people of the world was important to our Lord Jesus Himself. As such, He passionately prayed for them in His High Priestly Prayer, on the night before He was crucified. “I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me” (John 17:20-21; ESV). Our Lord Himself publicly testified at the tomb of Lazarus, that You, Father, always hear Him. “Then Jesus raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me. I knew that You always hear Me”” (John 11:41b-42a; NASB).

You, Father, always hear our Lord Jesus

Since You, Father, always hear our Lord Jesus, we know for sure that several in the world will believe in Jesus. Therefore, with confidence, we also pray that those You’ve appointed will believe in Jesus through the message of Your Church. In promising His disciples of the coming of the Holy Spirit, our Lord spoke of His ministry of convicting the unbelieving world. “And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment: concerning sin, because they do not believe in me; concerning righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you will see me no longer; concerning judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged” (John 16:8-11; ESV).

Merciful and Marvelous Father, we earnestly pray

Therefore, Merciful and Marvelous Father, we earnestly pray for Your Spirit’s convicting work among unbelievers in Your world today. Please, Holy Spirit, convict them concerning their sin of not believing in Jesus, the Savior of lost sinners. We acknowledge to You that we cannot convict unbelievers concerning their sin of unbelief. Nor can we convict them of righteousness and judgment to come. Only Your Holy Spirit can. He alone is commissioned to do the work of convicting unbelievers in the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.

We pray for a true hunger for Your word

Also, Lord of all the earth, we pray for a true hunger for Your word among the people of the world. Paul and Barnabas experienced a true hunger for Your word among unbelieving Jews and Gentiles at Pisidian Antioch. After speaking in their synagogue on a Sabbath day, “the people kept begging that these things might be spoken to them the next Sabbath…The next Sabbath nearly the whole city assembled to hear the word of the Lord” (Acts 13:42, 44; NASB). O what a true hunger for Your word! Certainly, it was Your Spirit who stirred up this true hunger in the hearts of the people of Pisidian Antioch. And Your Spirit is more than able to stir up this true hunger for Your word among unbelievers today! Leading to their repentance and salvation through faith alone, in Christ alone. Therefore, may Your Spirit, stir up a true hunger for Your word among the people of the world in our day!

Merciful and Marvelous Father, we thank You

And now, Merciful and Marvelous Father, we thank You for Your many promises encouraging us to pray to You. One of these promises is found in the book of Jeremiah. “Call to Me and I will answer you, and I will tell you great and mighty things, which you do not know” (Jeremiah 33:3; NASB). Indeed, we have called to You on behalf of the nation of Israel – Your chosen and cherished people. We’ve also called to You on behalf of Your Church – Your consecrated and called-out believing people. As well, we’ve called to You on behalf of Your world. That’s the unbelieving people living in the nations and lands You created under the heavens. We are confident that You will answer our prayers according to Your promise for the praise of Your glory! Indeed, we are eagerly expecting a great and mighty work of our Father, in response to our prayers! We pray all this, in the great and glorious name of Jesus Christ! Your Begotten Son! Our Blessed Savior! Amen!
