Caring and Compassionate Father

Caring and Compassionate Father, we are so thrilled and thankful for ushering us into the new month of October 2023! Truly, words cannot fully express our heartfelt gratitude to You for your loving care and compassion for us. We gladly acknowledge to You today that, You are indeed a caring Father. Yes, You are a very compassionate Father.

Your word affirms that You are caring

Indeed, Your word affirms that You are a caring and compassionate Father to Your believing children. For it says of You: “He does not deal with us according to our sins, nor repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love toward those who fear him…As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him” (Psalms 103:10-11, 13; ESV).

Your loving care and compassion were on full display in our lives

Surely, Your loving care and compassion were on full display in our lives in September 2023. Many were the challenges and conflicts that came our way in September 2023. Personally, I encountered many challenges that threatened to drown me under them. But in the midst of them, You, again and again; demonstrated Your loving care and compassion to us. Thus enabling us to endure under them and experience a fresh sense of Your loving care and compassion for us. O LORD, to You alone be all the glory!

Caring and Compassionate Father, You do all things well

Really, Caring and Compassionate Father, You do all things well. We adore You. Yes, we admire You. We acknowledge that You are faithful (see 1 Corinthians 1:9a). In fact, we can confidently say that You will never leave us nor forsake us (see Hebrews 13:5b) in the midst of our challenges. Such is Your unceasing and unconditional love for us. Indeed, it is our comfort in difficult and distressing times in our lives.

We are glad and grateful that You are our Father

That’s why we are glad and grateful that You are our Father. For You always look out for our best interest. Indeed, Your word assures us that You have prepared so much for those who truly love You. Things no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined (see 1 Corinthians 2:9). It’s all because You genuinely and gladly want us to enjoy Your very best, not only in this life, but also in the one soon to come.

We humbly and heartily commit our way to You

Therefore, we humbly and heartily commit our way to You, LORD (see Psalms 37:5) in October 2023. Since You have our best interest at heart, we trust that You will lead us in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake (see Psalms 23:3). Also, we affirm that Your goodness and mercy shall pursue us in October 2023 and all our days on earth (see Psalms 23:6). We ask that in Your goodness and mercy, You will restore our soul (see Psalms 23:3a).

We dedicate the month of October to You

And now, O LORD, we dedicate the month of October 2023 to You. Please accomplish what concerns our families, friends, fellow-believers and us in it. Also, “O God of Israel” (1 Kings 8:26), perform Your good purposes for the nation of Israel – Your chosen and cherished people. As well, we beseech You, Lord and Lover of the Church, carry out Your will for Your Church – Your called-out and consecrated ones. Also Father, in this month of October 2023, be pleased to accomplish what concerns Your world. Made up of all the nations and lands You have created under the heavens.

Compassionate Father, we have begun the last quarter of the year 2023

O Compassionate Father, we have begun the last quarter of the year 2023. As such, many are looking forward to finishing the year strong. Big Tech companies and businesses are straining and striving hard to end the year with a positive balance sheet. Their focus is on gaining the riches of this world while forfeiting their own souls (see Mark 8:36). Therefore,we pray for the people of the world who are caught up in gaining the whole world and forfeiting their souls.

Open their eyes

Please Caring Father, grant that they may turn from seeking after the riches of this world, to seek after You. Grant that they may turn from vain things to a living God, who made heaven and the earth (see Acts 14:15b). Also, open their eyes, so that they may turn from darkness to light, and from the dominion of Satan to You (see Acts 26:18).

We thank You

We thank You that when they turn from darkness to light and from the dominion of Satan to You, forgiveness of sins will be theirs (see Acts 26:18b). Indeed, forgiveness of their sins is guaranteed on the basis of Christ’s perfect sacrifice on the cross. Not only that, they will receive a place among those who are sanctified by faith in Christ (see Acts 26:18c).

O Father, You want us to walk the walk

Also, grant that those who repent and turn to You, will perform deeds appropriate to repentance (see Acts 26:20). O Father, You want us to walk the walk, not just talk the talk. Therefore, we pray for those who turn to You from seeking after the riches of this world. Please grant that they will truly demonstrate the genuineness of their repentance by their actions and attitudes that are consistent with Your teachings.  For Your Son, our Savior said: “Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46; NASB).

There is forgiveness with You

Truly, Caring and Compassionate Father, we are grateful that You do not treat us as our sins really deserve. All because You are so caring and so compassionate to us. “If You, O LORD, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared” (Psalms 130:3-4; NASB).

Father, we pray for Your Church

Also, Father, we pray for Your Church in the nations. We thank You that Jesus Christ is the Church’s One Foundation. As well, Jesus is the Head of the Church (see Ephesians 4:15). He is also the Builder of the Church. It was He who authoritatively declared: “I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18b; NASB). Christ the Lord is also the Lover of the Church (see Ephesians 5:25). And yes, He is the One who sanctifies His Church (see Ephesians 5:26).

Prepare the hearts of all those who will hear their message

Moreover, Jesus promised that believers would receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon them to be His witnesses in the world (see Acts 1:8). We therefore pray to You our Father on behalf of missionaries, messengers, ministers, men and women of God. Prepare the hearts of all those who will hear their message and make them like “the good soil heart” that bears fruit (see Mark 4:20; cf. Luke 8:15). Since they are committed to the work of sharing and spreading the good news, divinely protect them in this work! Please, Father, preserve them by the power of Your Spirit! Provide for all their needs that they may fully devote themselves to ministry of the Word (see Acts 18:5) in such a time as this!

Caring and Compassionate Father, we beseech You

Also, Caring and Compassionate Father, we beseech You on behalf of Israel, Your cherished and chosen nation. Please, touch their hardened hearts and soften them! Turn their hearts to You again that they may turn to You their God and their King! Teach them Your way, O LORD, that they may walk in Your truth (see Psalms 86:11)! Transform them by Your truth! Take care of them in their hour of need and distress as You had done in times past (see Deuteronomy 1:31)!

We affirm with the sweet psalmist David

Indeed, we affirm with the sweet psalmist David that You hear and answer prayer. David declared in the Spirit: “O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh shall come” (Psalms 65:2; NASB). We adore and appreciate You for taking keen interest in our prayers to You. In fact, we are assured in our hearts that if we pray according to Your will, You will respond to us (see 1 John 5:14-15). We thank You that You are able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think (see Ephesians 3:20). “Now to our God and Father be the glory forever and ever” (Philippians 4:20; NASB). And it is in Jesus’ blessed and beloved name we pray! Amen!
