God Still Speaks to His Servants and Spokesmen!
All throughout the Bible, God reveals Himself as a God who communicates with His servants and spokesmen. He spoke with Old Testament saints like Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Moses, David, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel. He also communicated with New Testament saints like Joseph, Mary, Simeon, Peter, John, and Paul. What God spoke with these saints have been recorded and enshrined in the Bible. But the question is: “Has God stopped speaking to believers of today?” This question has been debated and discussed at length. But this blog article is not about continuing the debate and the discussion. Rather, it is to affirm that God still speaks to His servants and spokesmen of today. As long as you are a believer, you can expect God to speak personally to you. It may not be in an audible voice or in a vision as He often did in the Old and New Testaments eras. But He communicates to believers today primarily through the Written Word – the Bible. He also chooses to speak to present day saints through the impression of His Holy Spirit living in them and through godly men and women in the fellowship of believers, and through circumstances. And if He so desires, He can also communicate clearly to His believing children today through dreams and visions. Nothing stops God from doing that. He has not changed. He is still the same yesterday and today and forever. The point is that, God is willing to communicate with His redeemed and adopted children, who are in His family. Just as communication occurs between parents and children within a family, so also it is in God’s family.
The most important question is: Do you as a believer live in expectation that God is willing and ready to speak personally with you here and now? Please let’s not miss out on the great privilege and opportunity given us to hear our God speak to us personally on our pilgrimage here on earth.
Please share how God has been speaking personally to you. Thank you for your thoughtful response! God bless you as always!
