Good and Glorious Father

Good and Glorious Father, we bless you for Your gifts of “life and breath and all things” (Acts 17:25; NASB) in the new month of September 2025. We give thanks to You for extending your goodness and grace to us in August 2025. Indeed, You showed us Your abundant goodness and amazing grace in August 2025. We encountered many challenges and crises in it. But once again, You demonstrated to us that You would not fail us nor forsake us. Oh, how blessed we are to have You as our God!

We praise and honor You

We praise and honor You for being on our side through the past month with its many challenges. David, the sweet psalmist of Israel, praised You for being on Israel’s side when enemies rose up against Your people. “Had it not been the Lord who was on our side when men rose up against us, then they would have swallowed us alive, when their anger was kindled against us; then the waters would have engulfed us, the stream would have swept over our soul; then the raging waters would have swept over our soul” (Psalm 124:2-5; NASB).

Blessed be the LORD

“Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us to be torn by their teeth” (Psalm 124:6; NASB). Like David, Lord, we magnify and extol You for not letting the many challenges we encountered in the past month overwhelmed or overpowered us. You have been so good to us. Yes, You have been gracious to us in the midst of the trials of life that came upon us in August 2025. In Your goodness and grace, You, not only sustained us under the trials, but You also strengthened us. As such, we not only survived, but we thrived in the midst of the trials. But most importantly, You drew us closer to Yourself. You brought us to the point of deepening our relationship with You.

Good and Glorious Father, we are grateful

O Good and Glorious Father, we are grateful that You “cause all things to work together for good to those who love [You]” (Romans 8:28; NASB). In fact, You do not waste anything in our lives. Indeed, You have a purpose for everything You do or permit in our lives. Yes, Father, often, we confess that we struggle to understand Your purpose in the midst of our trials and challenges in life. But what’s important is trusting You and taking You at Your word.

Your word teaches us

For Your word teaches us that Your desire for us is to trust in You in the midst of our trials. Indeed, this was an important lesson Your servant Paul learned and shared with the Corinthian church and believers today. “Indeed, we had the sentence of death within ourselves so that we would not trust in ourselves, but in God who raises the dead (2 Corinthians 1:9; NASB). Moreover, Your word tells us that the various trials You allow in our lives are for the purpose of proving our faith.

In this you rejoice

“In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials, so that the tested genuineness of your faith-more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire-may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ” (1 Peter 1:6-7; ESV).

Good and Glorious Father, You know what’s best for us

Indeed, Good and Glorious Father, You know what’s best for us in every situation we encounter on our sojourn on earth. Not only that, You want Your very best for us both in this life and in the life soon to come. Furthermore, You do what’s the very best for us, Your believing children. O Lord, how can we not trust You? How can we not take You at Your word? You are the One True God of the universe – whose love for us – seeks Your very best for us. Indeed, You are in a distinguished class all by Yourself in desiring and doing what’s best for us.

You desire and do what’s best for us

Since You desire and do what’s best for us, we dedicate the month of September 2025 to You. O Good Father, be pleased to accomplish or do what’s best concerning our family and friends and us. Also, “O Holy One of Israel” (Psalm 71:22; NASB) – bring to pass Your best and blessed plans for the nation of Israel – Your chosen and cherished people. Also, carry out Your caring and compassionate concerns and counsels for Your Church – Your consecrated and called-out people. As well, “Lord of all the earth” (Joshua 3:11, 13; NASB), discharge all Your desires and designs for Your world. A world that’s made up of all the countries and coastlands You created under the heavens!

O Holy One of Israel, we pray for the nation of Israel

“O Holy One of Israel” (Psalm 71:22; NASB), we pray for the nation of Israel today. Your word instructs us to: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: May they prosper who love you. May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces” (Psalm 122:6-7; NASB). Indeed, You, O Lord, earnestly desire peace and prosperity for Your chosen people Israel. We therefore, earnestly pray for Your peace and prosperity for Israel today. Lord, today, Israel is not experiencing nor enjoying Your peace and prosperity. Simply because they are seeking Your peace and prosperity on their terms – using the weapons of man.

Good and Glorious Father, Your peace and prosperity cannot be sought on our terms

O Good and Glorious Father, Your peace and prosperity cannot be sought on our own terms. Therefore, we ask that You will forgive Israel for seeking Your peace and prosperity on their own terms.  Indeed, Israel has often been guilty of seeking Your blessings on their own terms. As Your servant Paul stated, not knowing about Your righteousness, they sought to establish their own and did not subject themselves to Yours (see Romans 10:3). Just as Your righteousness is based on faith in Christ (see Romans 10:4), so also Your blessings of peace and prosperity are found in Christ. “For He Himself is our peace” (Ephesians 2:14a). “And He came and preached peace to [Gentiles] who were far away, and to [Israel] who were near” (Ephesians 2:17; NASB). Indeed, You have “blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3b; NASB).

We beseech You

Therefore, we beseech You, “O God of Israel” (1 Kings 8:26; NASB), on behalf of Israel. Please, grant that the people of Israel today, will choose to do things Your way. For Your blessings abound upon those who do things Your way. Indeed, your blessings come upon and overtake those who obey You (see Deuteronomy 28:2). You promised them the blessing of causing their enemies who rise up against them to be defeated if they obey You (see Deuteronomy 28:7). As well, You promised them that You will command the blessing upon them in their barns and in all that they put their hand to (see Deuteronomy 28:8). Furthermore, You promised them that You will make them abound in prosperity (Deuteronomy 28:11), if they obey You.

O Holy One of Israel, what more is there to do for Israel…?

O Holy One of Israel, what more is there to do for Israel that You have not done for her (see Isaiah 5:4a)? Indeed, You have done everything in Your power to set Israel on the path of experiencing and enjoying Your peace and prosperity. But Israel has continually strayed from Your path. Your prophet Jeremiah greatly lamented what You Yourself said about their straying from Your path. “For My people have committed two evils; they have forsaken Me, the fountain of living waters, to hew for themselves cisterns, broken cisterns that can hold no water” (Jeremiah 2:13; NASB).

O God of Israel, do a gracious work among Israel today

O God of Israel”(1 Kings 8:26), do a gracious work among Israel today, to look to Christ, their Redeemer; and live. Grant the political and religious leaders and the people of Israel, a fresh desire to follow Your ways! Please, grant that Your Spirit will enable them to forsake their sinful and stubborn ways!

Good and Glorious Father, we pray for Your Church

And now, Good and Glorious Father, we pray for Your Church in such a time as this! Your word makes it clear that we are living in the last days. In these last days, Your Spirit made a grim prediction of the condition of men’s heart and character. “Men will be lovers of self, lovers of money…lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God” (2 Timothy 3:2, 4; NASB). Furthermore, our Lord Jesus Himself prophesied that before His return, “most people’s love will grow cold” (Matthew 24:11b; NASB).

Your Church is in need of Your gracious work

Truly, Your Church is in need of Your gracious work in these days of self, money, and pleasure lovers. For Your Church to make a significant difference in such a time as this, she needs to return to her first love (see Revelation 2:4). Therefore, we pray for Your Church. Deepen our love for Christ so that He will become the supreme object of our love (see Matthew 10:37)! “May the Lord direct [our] hearts into the love of God and into the steadfastness of Christ” (2 Thessalonians 3:5; NASB).

Our love for Christ is demonstrated by our obedience

Since our love for Christ is demonstrated by our obedience to His word [“If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word” (John 14:23b; NASB)], grant Your Church a heart of obedience. By Your Spirit, enable Your Church today to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness (see Matthew 6:33). Also, by Your Spirit, empower Your Church to serve Your purpose in our generation like King David (see Acts 13:36). As well, by Your Spirit, endue Your Church with a fresh zeal to share Your good news in the nations. For Your word declares: “This gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations” (Matthew 24:14; NASB).

Good and Glorious Father, we agree with Your declaration

O Good and Glorious Father, we agree with Your declaration about the harvest of souls. “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore beseech the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest” (Luke 10:2; NASB). Please, Lord of the harvest, open our eyes to see sense of the urgency with which You made this declaration. Furthermore, make Your Church willing to be sent out into Your harvest in such a time as this!

Your first disciples, not only prayed

Your first disciples, not only prayed. But also, they were willing to be sent out.  Also, make all believers today willing to get out of their comfort zone to make a difference for Christ and His cause. Indeed, the fields are white for harvest (see John 4:35). Therefore, may Your Church not sleep in harvest so as not to act shamefully (see Proverbs 10:5) in such a time as this!

God of all the earth, we pray for Your world

And now, “God of all the earth” (Isaiah 54:5; NASB), we pray for Your world. Your word declares: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16; NASB). O Lord, we thank You that Your love for all those who are yet to believe in Your Son, is selfless, not stern. It’s special, not shallow. It’s supreme, not superficial. Yes, it’s steadfast and secure, not shaky and slippery. Indeed, it’s a love that always seeks Your very best for people, in this life and in the life to soon come.

We pray

Therefore, we pray that Your Holy Spirit will open the hearts of the people of the world to embrace Your love for them. Indeed, only Your Holy Spirit can witness to their hearts that You really do love them and want Your very best for them. We confess: no preacher or pastor; no minister or messenger; no servant or spokesman of Yours can do that. O Holy Spirit, You who convict the world concerning sin (see John 16:8), do a gracious work in the hearts of unbelievers to receive God’s love for them.

Good and Glorious Father, open their hearts

Also, Good and Glorious Father, open their hearts to receive the words spoken to them (see Acts 16:14) to bring them to salvation. Grant that they will receive the love of the truth so as to be saved (see 2 Thessalonians 2:10). Please Father, Lord of heaven and earth, grant them the want-to to repent. For Your word says: You are “not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9b; NASB). Furthermore, it declares that You “take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live” (Ezekiel 33:11; NASB). Therefore, grant the people of the world “the repentance that leads to life” (Acts 11:18; NASB), even as You did for the Gentiles at the home of Cornelius.

Good and Glorious Father, we count on Your favor

O Good and Glorious Father, we count on Your favor to abound upon our lives in this month of September 2025! Indeed, without Your favor abounding upon our lives, our lives will be fruitless! Futile! Full of frustration! Even, a failure! Certainly, we know that when Your favor abounds upon our lives, we will experience Your victory in all our battles. We will be overcomers! We will taste the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (see Psalm 27:13)! Yes, we will make a difference for the cause of Christ in such a time as this! Therefore, O Lord, make Your favor abound upon Your people in this month of September 2025.

Good and Glorious Father, we thank You

Indeed, Good and Glorious Father, we thank “You who hear prayer” (Psalm 65:2a; NASB). Also, we greatly rejoice in You. For You are “able to do far more abundantly beyond all that we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20a; NASB). We bless You for wanting Your very best for our lives, both in this life and in the life soon to come. Such is Your love for us. Truly, none of the gods can compare with You in seeking Your very best for our lives. It’s in Jesus’ blessed and beloved name, we pray and present all our petitions and prayers to You. Amen!
