Evangelistic Messages
The Bible is clear about God's heart and desire for reaching the lost and unsaved people. It says: "This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:3-4). It also declares: "the Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance" (2 Peter 3:9). As if these were not enough to demonstrate God's desire for saving the lost, the Bible adds: "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16). God's love for lost sinners, of which I am the chief, is indeed amazing. This love was demonstrated by the Lord Jesus Christ, God's only Begotten Son, when He came to earth, the first time as the God-Man who made the ultimate sacrifice of shedding His life blood for sinners. Before His ultimate sacrifice for our sins, Jesus reached out to the lost with the good news of the kingdom. He went from synagogue to synagogue, village to village, from one town to another, and from city to city, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, calling sinners to repentance. His love for the lost was love in action. Jesus was passionate and purposeful in reaching out to lost sinners. He never took anything for granted. He left no stone unturned in ministering to the lost sheep of Israel.
Once in the account of Mark's Gospel, the Lord Jesus got up early in the morning, and went away to a secluded place to pray. Simon Peter and his companions went looking for Him and found Him (Mark 1:35-36). They reported to Jesus that everyone is looking for Him. Jesus' response must have shocked them. Instead of basking in the glory of His growing popularity, Jesus calmly and confidently said to His disciples: "Let us go somewhere else to the towns nearby, so that I may preach there also, for that is what I came for" (Mark 1:38). This statement clearly reveals the passion and purpose of the Lord Jesus in reaching the lost with His good news of life and love, of forgiveness and freedom, of the grace and goodness of God, and of truth and transformation.
Later on, in His brief ministry here on our planet, the Lord Jesus again expressed His passion and purpose for reaching the lost in these often quoted verse: "For even the Son of Man did not come to to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many" ( Mark 10:45 ). Today, the Lord Jesus is not physically present with us as He was with His early disciples. But He chose to give believers the privilege of reaching the lost with His good news. Definitely, God's calling upon my life, not only involves equipping the saints, but also evangelizing the lost. He has given me the passion to proclaim His gospel message of salvation and redemption to the unsaved, wherever He may choose to send me. One of the places God has given me the platform to proclaim His message of love and new life in Christ, is at the largest homeless shelter in Denver, Colorado. The first time God gave me the opportunity to present His message of salvation in the chapel of this shelter was in January 2006. As I worshiped and waited to proclaim the good news to the men and women who filled the chapel, God did a gracious work in my heart. His gracious work was for me to recognize that He indeed loved them and gave His Son to die for their sins as well as mine. Although I am not a "cry baby," yet on that memorable night, I could not hold back my tears. God would give me that night, a supernatural and special love for reaching out to the homeless with His saving message. Truly, it was a love I could never have generated on my own. Throughout the last twelve years of preaching the gospel at the shelter, (free of charge:-Freely, I have received, freely I give), God has given me the privilege of leading many lost souls to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ and the blessing of encouraging many believers in their faith through the indwelling power of the Holy Spirit. What privilege! What pleasure! What partnership with Christ! What a place to serve Christ! It is my joy to share some of the evangelistic messages the Lord has been giving me to to present at the shelter.
The purpose of sharing them on this website is to
Exemplify passion for winning lost souls.
Encourage believers to commit themselves wholeheartedly to the Great Commission.
Educate believers in the sharing of the good news from God's Word.
Equip the saints for the work of service.
The messages presented at the shelter are raw rather than refined. They are not edited. They are delivered with the passion of the Holy Spirit to get right at the heart, where the Holy Spirit is at work to transform believers more into Christlikeness and to turn sinners from their sin of unbelief to saving faith in Jesus Christ. If you are a genuine born-again believer listening to these messages, may the Holy Spirit use them to confirm you in your faith! However, if you are an unbeliever listening to these messages, may the Holy spirit cause your heart to burn within you with conviction for your sins until you cry out to Jesus to save you from your sins!
