Faithful and Forbearing Father

O Faithful and Forbearing Father, we adore and appreciate You! For in Your faithfulness and forbearance, You’ve brought us into the new month of March 2025. Our hearts overflow with gratitude to You for all You’ve done for us in February 2025.  We acknowledge that You Yourself give “to all mankind life and breath and everything” (Acts 17:25b; ESV). Indeed, we owe our very lives to You. For “if [You] should set [Your] heart to it and gather to [Yourself Your] spirit and [Your] breath, all flesh would perish together and man would return to dust” (Job 34:14-15; ESV). Truly, we do not take for granted Your gifts of life and breath – which You willingly and wholeheartedly bestow on us. Rather, we count them as Your great blessings to us, in our sojourn here on earth!

We are sojourners before You

Indeed, as King David testifies, “we are sojourners before You, and tenants, as all our fathers were” (1 Chronicles 29:15a; NASB). Truly, this world is not our forever home. Our forever home is with You – in Your very presence. For our Lord Jesus promised us a home in His very presence. “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also” (John 14:2-3; ESV).

We know that He will not fail to fulfill this promise to us

O how special and sweet, the promise of being with our Lord Jesus in the forever home He’s preparing for us! We know that He will not fail to fulfill this promise to us. Our Lord will most assuredly bring it to pass. For You always fulfill with Your hand what You have spoken with Your mouth (see 1 Kings 8:15, 24). Indeed, this sets You apart from all other gods. Truly, You, O Lord, are in a distinguished class all by Yourself in fulfilling Your word of promise. No one, absolutely no one, can compare with You in this regard. You always do what You say.

Faithful and Forbearing Father, Your word…affirms this

In fact, Faithful and Forbearing Father, Your word strongly and specifically affirms this of You. It declares: “God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent; has He said, and will He not do it? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?” (Numbers 23:19; NASB). The expected answers to these questions are: “Yes! Yes, indeed! You will most assuredly do what You say.” And: “Yes indeed! You will definitely make good what You’ve spoken!” Joshua vividly testified to this truth in his final speech to the sons of Israel in the Promised Land. “You know in your hearts and souls, all of you, that not one word has failed of all the good things that the LORD your God promised concerning you. All have come to pass for you, not one of them has failed” (Joshua 23:24; ESV).

What You promise us, comes to pass

Because what You promise concerning us, comes to pass; therefore, we approach Your throne of grace with confidence and conviction of heart. We are certain that we will “receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need” (Hebrews 4:16b; NASB). Indeed, we thank You for being a merciful and gracious God. In Your mercy, You willingly choose to restrain Yourself from unleashing on us the punishment we really deserve for our wrongs. And in Your grace toward us, You gladly choose to give us the good we don’t deserve at all. Surely, eternity itself will not suffice to express our gratitude to You for Your abundant mercy and amazing grace.

You are the God whose mercy toward us is abundant

Since You are the God whose mercy toward us is abundant and grace, amazing; we dedicate the month of March 2025 to You. We know that in this month, You will bring to pass what You planned from ancient times (see 2 Kings 19:25). Therefore, we beseech You, O our Father! Please accomplish what concerns our families, friends and us. Also, carry out Your plans and purposes for the nation of Israel – Your special inheritance. Lord, be pleased to bring to pass Your desires and designs for Your Church – Your Spirit-indwelt believers. As well, perform Your good intentions for Your world. A world, that’s made up of all the countries and the coastlands You created under the heavens!

Faithful and Forbearing Father, we pray for Your Church

O Faithful and Forbearing Father, we pray for Your Church in such a time as this. Your word makes it crystal clear that Jesus will come again. Our Lord Jesus Himself confidently spoke of His coming again. Speaking to His disciples of things to come, He declared: “For the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory” (Luke 21:26b-27; NASB; cf. Matthew 24:30). After our Lord gloriously ascended into heaven, two angels predicted His sure return to His sky-gazing disciples. “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into the sky? This Jesus who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in just the same way as you have watched Him go into heaven” (Acts 1:11; NASB).

Your Begotten Son’s second coming is firmly established

Lord, although Your Begotten Son’s second coming is firmly established in Your word, not many are mindful of it. Rather, they mock it. They mockingly ask: “Where is the promise of His coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues just as it was from the beginning of creation” (2 Peter 3:4; NASB). Your divine response to the mockers through Peter, revealed Your loving patience and longing for the lost to return to You. “The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9; NASB). Truly, O Lord, You are incredibly patient with mankind – including those who mock Your Son’s sure return. You, O Lord, are giving them opportunity to turn to You and be saved from the wrath to come.

Yes, it’s certain that Christ will come again

Yes, it’s certain that Christ will come again. Furthermore, it’s clear that You are giving sinners opportunity to repent, lest they perish in Your righteous judgment of them. In the light of these truths, we pray that You will prepare Your Church for the coming of Christ. Lord, Your preparation of Your believing children in this age, begins with our own need to repent. For we are doing business as usual. That’s, we are: “eating and drinking and marrying and being given in marriage” (Luke 17:27; ESV).

Faithful and Forbearing Father, we have been living life as if Christ will never return

As well, Faithful and Forgiving Father, we have been living life as if Christ will never return. In fact, we are in love with this present world even as Demas was and deserted Paul (see 2 Timothy 4:10). We are guilty of being lovers of self, lovers of money and lovers of the pleasures of this world rather than lovers of God (see 2 Timothy 3:2, 4). O Lord, we repent of these sins. Please, we humbly ask that You restore us to our first love (see Revelation 2:4). That is, loving You Yourself, with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind (see Matthew 22:37).

Lord, revive Your Church

Also, Lord, revive Your Church in these last days. For revival comes from You. Indeed, Your Church is desperately in need of Your reviving work if she is to be prepared for the coming of Christ. We confess that we are “lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold” (Revelation 3:16a; NASB). In fact, we are in danger of being spat out of Your mouth (see Revelation 3:16b). We, therefore, cry out to You. “Will You not Yourself revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?” (Psalm 85:6; NASB). ”O LORD, revive Your work in the midst of the years, in the midst of the years make it known” (Habakkuk 2:2b; NASB). Indeed, Your Church is in need of Your revival of her and the revival of Your work to prepare for Christ’s coming.

Your Church, urgently needs You to rekindle her passion

Not only that, Your Church, urgently needs You to rekindle her passion for seeking and saving the lost. Yes, she pressingly needs You to reinvigorate her enthusiasm for sharing and spreading the gospel in such a time as this. Like Paul, we pray: “Woe is me if I do not preach the gospel” (2 Corinthians 9:16b; NASB). Please Father, by Your Spirit’s power, enable us to make the most of the opportunities You give us to share Christ. More importantly, make us faithful witnesses of Christ in our day – leaving the outcome of our witness to You.

Faithful and Forbearing Father, we pray for Israel

And now, Faithful and Forbearing Father, we pray for Israel – Your chosen and cherished people. Indeed, they are a people consecrated to You and dearly loved by You, the Lord their God. In fact, You made this known to the sons of Israel through Moses Your servant. “For you are a people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth. It was not because you were more in number than any other people that the LORD set his love on you and chose you, for you were the fewest of all peoples, but it is because the LORD loves you” (Deuteronomy 7:6-7; ESV). How special is Your choice of Israel! How sweet is Your love for Israel! And yes, how significant it is; that Israel is Your treasured possession! Truly, “blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD (Psalm 33:12a; NASB).

We earnestly beseech You to reveal more of Yourself

Therefore, today, we earnestly beseech You to reveal more of Yourself to Your treasured possession, Israel! O Lord, let them see You afresh for who You really are! Yahweh– the self-existing, the self-sufficient, the self-sustaining, the sovereign and supreme Deity of the universe! Please, open their spiritual eyes again as You did in the days of Elijah, when You answered him by the fire of the LORD from heaven. Your revelation of Yourself that day, caused the people to make this hearty and humble confession. “The LORD, He is God; the LORD, He is God” (1 Kings 18:39b; NASB). May You, O LORD, be pleased to reveal Yourself to Israel today! And as a result, may they too; heartily and humbly declare: “The LORD, He is God; the LORD, He is God.”

God of Israel…You gave them a clarion call to return to You

God of Israel, all throughout the history of Israel, You gave them a clarion call to return to You (see Nehemiah 1:9; Isaiah 44:22; Joel 2:12; Zechariah 1:3; Malachi 3:7). And yet often, wayward Israel did not return to You, the Lord their God (see Hosea 11:5; Amos 4:6, 8, 9, 10, 11). Since wayward Israel often refused to return to You in the past, we pray for the Spirit’s fresh work in them to return to You. Please, let Your Spirit give wayward Israel today, the “want-to” return to You with all their heart! O Lord, may they heed Your call to them to return to You in the days of the prophet Joel. “Return to the LORD your God, for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love; and he relents over disaster” (Joel 2:13b; ESV).

Faithful and Forbearing Father, we plead with You

Also, Faithful and Forbearing Father, we plead with You to give rest to Israel today, from all their enemies. Throughout their existence as a nation, You gave them rest from all their enemies. Notably, You did this in the reigns of King David (see 2 Samuel 7:1), King Solomon (see 1 Kings 5:4; 1 Chronicles 22:9), King Asa (see 2 Chronicles 14:1, 5, 6; 15:15) and King Jehoshaphat (see 2 Chronicles 20:30). The rest You gave to Israel on every side in the past, significantly advanced Your divine purposes. For example, Solomon utilized the rest You gave him to build the Jerusalem temple for the name of the LORD.

Lord, today, Israel needs Your rest

Lord, today, Israel needs rest. Over the recent years of her existence as a nation, Israel has had no rest from their enemies. There’ve been conflicts, wars, and hostilities with Hostile Iran, Hezbollah of Lebanon, Hamas of Palestine, and the Houthis of Yemen. Without Your gracious intervention to give Israel rest on every side, she will continue to be in a state of turmoil and trouble. Therefore, grant Israel rest from all their enemies according to Your promise in 2 Samuel 7:11.

Lord of all the earth, we pray for Your world

And now, “Lord of all the earth” (Joshua 3:11; ESV), we pray for Your world. Your world urgently needs You. Indeed, they need Jesus, “the Savior of the world” (John 4:42; ESV). We confess to You that today, the people of the world spend most of their energy in pursuing the riches of this world. They eagerly seek after what they shall eat? Or what they shall drink? Or what they shall wear (see Matthew 6:31)? We also acknowledge to You, that they are laying up treasures for themselves instead of being rich toward You (see Luke 12:21). In other words, they are living as if one’s life “consist in the abundance of his possessions” (Luke 12:15b; ESV). This way of life is folly in Your sight. Indeed, it’s far from being a fulfilling and fruitful life. For our Lord Jesus said: “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul” (Mark 8:36; NASB)? Even if a person should have gained the planet itself, such would be inadequate to purchase again his forfeited soul of incomparable value.

Faithful and Forbearing Father, we earnestly beseech You

Therefore, Faithful and Forbearing Father, we earnestly beseech You on behalf of Your world. Please, show them the error of their way. Send them Your true and trustworthy messengers to share Your good news of salvation and forgiveness of sins with them. Soften their hardened hearts to receive and respond to Your message of salvation and forgiveness of sins in Jesus Christ. And O Lord, stir up in them a sincere desire to know the truth and be set free. For our Lord Jesus said: “And you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free” (John 8:32; NASB). Simply put, save them from their sins and Satan – the god of this world who has blinded their minds (see 2 Corinthians 4:4). Indeed, they’re in need of Your special and supernatural intervention.

You’re mighty to save

Since You’re “mighty to save” (Isaiah 63:1; ESV), we are confident that, You’ll save all those who’ll receive and respond to Your message. Not only that, You’ll set them apart for Your divine purposes; in this life and in the life to come! O Lord, we thank You for being the God who hears prayer (see Psalm 65:2). We’re confident that You’ve heard our prayer and that You’ll do what is good in Your sight. In fact, You’re “able to do far more abundantly than all we ask or think” (Ephesians 3:20a; ESV). We pray all this in the great and glorious name of Jesus! Your Begotten Son! Our Blessed Savior! Amen.
