O Faithful and Forgiving Father, Your love for the nation of Israel is tender and touching; unceasing and unconditional. It’s a love that seeks Your very best for them, both in this life and in the life to come. Indeed, it’s a love that willingly and wholeheartedly chose to deliver them out of the house of slavery in Egypt. For You knew far in advance that they would fail You miserably in the Promised Land. And yet, because Your love for them is unceasing and unconditional, You brought them there anyway (see Deuteronomy 32:14-21). Truly, there is no God like You; so loving and so kind!
