Lord of hosts and Lord of all

Lord of hosts and Lord of all, “You, O Lord, are a God merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abundant in lovingkindness and truth” (Psalm 86:15). “Before the mountains were born or You gave birth to the earth and the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are God” (Psalm 90:2).

You are in a distinguished class

Indeed, You are in a distinguished class all by Yourself. “For who in the skies is comparable to the LORD? Who among the sons of the mighty is like the LORD, a God greatly feared in the council of the holy ones, and awesome above all those who are around Him? O LORD God of hosts, who is like You, O mighty LORD?” (Psalm 89:6-8a). We declare that there is none. Indisputably, none! Yes, none at all!

You renewed us in You

In Your compassion and kindness to us, You rescued us from evil and evil men. You also renewed us in You and restored us to our first love as we celebrated the death and resurrection of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. We are so grateful that You also remembered us and acted graciously on our behalf in the past month.

We thank You from the bottom of our hearts

We thank You from the bottom of our hearts for all the goodness and grace that You lovingly and longingly continue to bestow upon us. As the Scripture says; “The LORD gives grace and glory; no good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, how blessed is the man who trusts in You!” (Psalm 84:11b-12). We belong to You and are blessed by You. Yes, we believe also in You, that You are always looking out for our best interest, both in this life and in the life soon to come.

You have brought us into the new month of May 2021

In Your goodness and grace toward us, You have now brought us into the new month of May 2021. All knowing God, the mercies we will experience and the messes we will make in May 2021 are already known to You. You are also fully aware of the peace we will enjoy in May 2021 as well the problems we will encounter in it. Also, known to You far in advance, are the delights we will exult in, in May 2021, and the difficulties we will endure in it. The challenges we will face and the comforts that will follow in May 2021 are foreknown to You. So also are all our expectations and excuses.

We dedicate the month of May 2021 to You

As such, we humbly and honestly dedicate the month of May 2021 to You. Please, in Your great faithfulness and favor, accomplish what concerns our families, our friends and fellow-believers, and us; Israel – Your cherished and chosen people; Your Church – that is, Your called-out and consecrated people, and Your world – made up of all the nations and the lands You created under the heavens – for the praise of Your blessed name.

We submit our lives to You

Holy Father, we submit our lives to You, grateful that You have given Your angels charge concerning us, to guard us in all our ways (see Psalm 91:11) in May 2021 and beyond. We acknowledge that You are the true and living God who is always at work behind the scenes on behalf of Your own.

Touch us afresh

Loving Lord, please touch us afresh. Teach us Your ways. Take us to new heights in our relationship and friendship with You. Tell us the way we should go and the work we should do in May 2021 in order to make a difference for Your kingdom! Turn our hearts, that are prone to wandering, toward You. Train us in preparation for serving You here on earth and in heaven. Turn to us and be gracious to us, after Your manner with those who love Your name (see Psalm 119:132). Above all, transform us more and more into the blessed likeness of Your Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ!

Spiritual warfare will rage on in our lives

Righteous Father, we admit that, in May 2021, spiritual warfare will rage on in our lives and in Your Church, in the nation of Israel and in all other nations. You are the only One who can defend us, deliver us, and defeat our spiritual enemies. Therefore, like David, the man after Your own heart, we earnestly cry out to You! “Oh give us help against the adversary, for deliverance by man is in vain. Through God we will do valiantly, and it is He who shall tread down our adversaries” (Psalm 108:12-13). We count on and claim Your promise: “The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will keep your soul” (Psalm 121:7), for May 2021 and beyond.

We joyfully and jubilantly declare

In faith and in anticipation of the victory You will grant us in all our spiritual battles in May 2021, we joyfully and jubilantly declare “thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ” (1 Corinthians 15:57). “Blessed be the LORD forever” (Psalm 89:52a). We pray all these in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ. “Amen and Amen” (Psalm 89:52b).
