"And they came to Bethsaida. And they brought a blind man to Jesus and implored Him to touch him. Taking the blind man by the hand, He brought him out of the village; and after spitting on his eyes and laying His hands on him, He asked him, 'Do you see anything?' And he looked up and said, 'I see men, for I see them like trees walking around.' Then again He laid His hands on his eyes; and he looked intently and was restored, and began to see everything clearly. And He sent him to his home, saying, 'Do not even enter the village.'" (Mark 8:22-26).
This simple story has several significant and encouraging principles. I would like to share one of them with you. It is: Jesus Christ has a perfect solution for every problem people face in life. Here in Bethsaida, which means "house of the fish," Jesus Christ demonstrated in a practical and powerful way that He already had a perfect solution for the problem brought to Him. Please notice that when the problem of blindness was brought to the Lord Jesus, He took complete control. He didn't panic. He didn't look perplexed and puzzled. Jesus knew exactly what He was going to do fix this problem. Indeed, it is amazing to note the compassion and care our Lord demonstrated in this situation in Bethsaida.
You see, earlier in His ministry, the Lord Jesus denounced three Galilean cities for not repenting after performing most of His miraculous works of power there. Bethsaida was number two on that list (see Matthew 11:20-24). Yet despite the lack of repentance and trust in Him in Bethsaida, here was the Lord Jesus ready and willing to provide a perfect solution for this physical problem of blindness. Oh how compassionate is our Savior! Remember Jesus Christ provided a perfect solution for our sin problem by His death on the cross. He paid the full price. He took the punishment we deserve for our sins. The story above also reminds us that Jesus already has a perfect solution for the problems we bring to Him. Whatever your problem, I believe Jesus Christ already has a perfect solution for it. Take it to Jesus in humility of heart. Trust Jesus to work out His perfect solution for it in His own way and time. Thank Jesus for His willingness and compassion in dealing with your problem.
