Wise and Wonderful Father

Wise and Wonderful Father, in Your sovereign wisdom and wonder, You’ve brought us to the last month of 2025! December 2025! We bless You for watching over us and working on our behalf in November 2025. Truly, You are “the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end” (Revelation 22:13; NASB). We thank You that You know the end from the beginning. Indeed, even before the year 2025 would begin, You already knew how it would all end. So, You were not at all surprised by all that happened in the last eleven months. And yes, there will be no surprises for You at the end of December 2025. We confess that we were stunned or even shocked at some of the things that occurred in our lives during this passing year. But that was not the case with You. No! Never! Because You know all things.

Your sovereign hand orchestrated the events of the last eleven months

In fact, Your sovereign hand orchestrated the events of the last eleven months. And surely, Your sovereign hand is and will be arranging all the occurrences in December 2025. Indeed, You, the only Wise God, know all about the three dimensions of our lives. You know all about our past, present, and future, all at the same time. Like David, we also declare our wonder at Your omniscience! “You know when I sit down and when I rise up.…Even before there is a word on my tongue, behold, O LORD, You know it all.…Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is too high, I cannot attain it” (Psalms 139:2, 4, 6; NASB).

You know all things

Because You know all things and orchestrates all the events of life, we’re convinced that all is well with us. Indeed, we can rest assured that You are in control. You are in charge. Yes, You are in command of all the affairs of our lives, both now and forever. You will not fail to accomplish Your divine purposes for our lives. No one, absolutely, none; can derail Your plans for our lives. In fact, King Nebuchadnezzar, whom You restored after Your discipline of him, testified to this truth. His testimony reads: “No one can ward off [Your] hand, or say to [You], ‘What have You done?’” (Daniel 4:35; NASB)!

Wise and Wonderful Father, You are above all gods

O Wise and Wonderful Father, You are exalted above all gods! Indeed, “[You are] a great King…and [Your] name is feared among the nations” (Malachi 1:14b; NASB). Certainly, You are in a distinguished class all by Yourself. Among the gods, none can compare with You. Yes, great are You LORD and greatly to be praised; You are to be feared above all gods (see Psalms 96:4)! O LORD, we stand in awe of who You are! Truly, You are the self-existing, the self-sufficient, the self-sustaining, the sovereign and the supreme Deity of the universe!

You have been so faithful to us

Indeed, throughout this year, You have been so faithful to us, but we have been faithless. You have not failed us nor forsaken us. But we have failed and forsaken You. You have not forgotten us, even a day, in the year 2025. But we have forgotten You, days without number in this year, which is passing away. Indeed, we are unworthy of all the lovingkindness and of all the faithfulness which You have shown to us to this day (see Genesis 32:10). O Lord, You have dealt and will continue to deal graciously with us.

You, O LORD, are gracious and merciful

For You, O LORD, are “gracious and merciful; slow to anger and great in lovingkindness” (Psalms 145:8; NASB). Just as in Your great compassion You did not make an end of Israel or forsake them (see Nehemiah 9:31), so also You are doing with us. “For You are a gracious and compassionate God” (Nehemiah 9:31b; NASB). We are deeply grateful that “You are a God of forgiveness” (Nehemiah 9:17b; NASB). Moreover, Your word says: “If You, LORD, should mark iniquities, O LORD, who could stand? But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared” (Psalms 130:3-4; NASB). Certainly, none of us would be able stand in Your holy presence on our own merit!

You, Wise and Wonderful Father, are a God of forgiveness

Because You, Wise and Wonderful Father, are a God of forgiveness and gracious, we commit our cause to You in December 2025. Please accomplish what concerns our families, friends and us, for You are the LORD who accomplishes what concerns us (see Psalms 139:8a). Also, “O Holy One of Israel” (Psalms 71:22), bring about Your beautiful and bountiful blessings for Israel – Your chosen and cherished people. As well, we pray and plead with You, O Lord of the Church! Carry out Your compassionate and caring counsels and concerns for Your Church – Your consecrated and called-out people. Also, “LORD of all the earth” (Zechariah 6:5), in December 2025, do according to all Your desires and designs for Your world. A world that’s made up of all the nations and lands You created under the heavens!

O Holy One of Israel, the nation of Israel is dear to Your heart

“O Holy One of Israel” (Psalms 71:22), the nation of Israel is dear to Your heart. Although Israel was not the first nation You created, yet You affectionately called them, “My firstborn son” (Exodus 4:22). Because they are dear to Your heart, You reminded them of how precious they are in Your sight. Through Your prophet Moses, You shared these endearing and enduring words with Israel. “For you are people holy to the LORD your God. The LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for his treasured possession, out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth” (Deuteronomy 7:6; ESV). Furthermore, because Israel is much-loved by You, You assured them that “he who touches [them] touches the apple of [your] eye” (Zechariah 2:8b; ESV).

O LORD, Israel is much-loved by You

Certainly, O LORD, Israel is much-loved by You. Those You brought back from exile in Babylon, gladly and gratefully testified about Your goodness and love for Israel. “For He is good, for His lovingkindness is upon Israel forever” (Ezra 3:11b; NASB)! Oh how special that the God of Israel is good, and that His faithful love is upon Israel forever! Also, Your word declares that “to them belong the adoption, the glory, the covenants, the giving of the law, the worship, and the promises. To them belong the patriarchs, and from their race, according to the flesh, is the Christ who is God over all, blessed forever. Amen” (Romans 9:4-5; ESV). It is in Christ Jesus that the blessing of Abraham came to the Gentiles like us (see Galatians 3:14). Your promise to Abram, before You changed his name to Abraham was: “in you all the families of the earth will be blessed” (Genesis 12:3b; NASB).

Wise and Wonderful Father, You do love Israel

Truly, O Wise and Wonderful Father, You do love Israel and have blessed them with many privileges. But as the saying goes, “with privilege comes responsibility.” Among their responsibilities is Your desire for them is to wait for the LORD (see Isaiah 40:31)! As well, Your yearning for them is to walk before You in truth with all their heart and all their soul (see 1 Kings 2:4). Above all, Your heart longs for Israel to worship You alone and no other god (see Exodus 34:14: Deuteronomy 6:11). Therefore, we earnestly pray for Israel today. Please, may Your Holy Spirit enable them to worship You the Lord their God in spirit and truth. For You, their Father, are looking for those who will worship You in spirit and truth (John 4:24). You are not at all interested in their vain worship of You, in which they honor You with their lips but their heart is far from You (see Matthew 15:8-9).

Nothing will delight Your heart than for Israel to walk before You

As 2025 draws to a close, nothing will delight Your heart than for Israel to walk before You in truth. Not only are You seeking worshipers who worship You in truth, but also people who walk before You in truth. This is because You are “the God of truth” (Isaiah 65:16; NASB), who “[desires] truth in the innermost being” (Psalms 51:6a; NASB). Therefore, we pray that Your Spirit will empower present Israel to walk before You in truth with all their heart and all their soul. Simply put, we pray that Israel will be faithful to You and live to You, their Lord and their God. For Israel to be a prosperous and powerful nation You want them to be, they must be obedient to Your will. LORD, forgive Israel for thinking that their modern weapons of war and their ability to gather intelligence are what make them prosperous and powerful.

God of Israel, we pray that Israel will wait for You

Also, God of Israel, we pray that Israel will wait for You, their LORD and Redeemer! For You promised to act in behalf of those who wait for You. “For from the days of old they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen a God besides You, who acts in behalf of the one who waits for Him” (Isaiah 64:4; NASB). O that Israel would wait for the LORD their God; that is, acknowledge their sense of helplessness before You! And completely rely on You to fight their battles! O how You would show Yourself strong in their behalf! You would do for them what they have not heard or perceived by ear, nor has the eye seen.

Wise and Wonderful Father, we pray for Your Church

And now, Wise and Wonderful Father, we pray for Your Church! With glad and grateful hearts, we praise You for Your overflowing grace into our lives in this passing year. Because of Your overflowing grace into our lives, You’ve shielded us from evil. Strengthened us when our strength was failing and flagging! Sustained us to run the race You’ve set before us in this year that’s passing away! Shown us Your lovingkindness that is better than life (see Psalms 63:3)! Strongly supported us when our heart was completely Yours (see 2 Chronicles 16:9)! Satisfied our desires with good things! Yes, because of Your overflowing grace, You’ve lovingly shepherded us and surrounded us with favor as with a shield (see Psalms 5:12b)! And You will continue to do what You’ve started to do in our lives from the beginning of this year.

We admit that we’ve fallen short of Your expectations

O LORD, how can we not overflow with gratitude (Colossians 2:7b) to You for Your overflowing grace in our lives! Even as we acknowledge Your overflowing grace in our lives, we admit that we’ve fallen short of Your expectations for us in this year. In the days of Isaiah, You planted Judah as the choicest vine in the best soil and removed its stones. Furthermore, You built a tower in the middle of it. Then You expected it to produce good grapes, but it produced worthless ones (see Isaiah 5:1-7). Sadly, we confess that after all Your faithful and fervent investment in our lives this year, we’ve failed to produce the fruit You’re expecting. Our worship of You, waiting for You, walking with You, watching for Christ’s return, witness of Christ, all fell below Your expectation for us.

We humbly request you to this of You

Therefore, Father, on behalf of Your Church; we humbly request this of You! Please, do not break down our wall and lay us waste, as You did to Judah (see Isaiah 5:5-6) for failing to produce the fruit You expected of them. Rather, we plead with You to do a work of grace in Your Church to restore her to Yourself. We pray that Your Spirit will enable Your Church to offer You genuine and godly worship. The kind of worship that exalts and extols You, the Excellent and the Exalted One. Yes, the kind of worship that praises and promotes the Person of God Himself. The kind of worship that honors and holds You in high regard. The kind of worship that magnifies and makes You the center and focus of worship.

Every created being is heard worshiping You be

O Wise and Wonderful Father, such, is the worship of You in Revelation! Every created being is heard worshiping You before Your throne! Saying, “To Him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb, be blessing and honor and glory and dominion forever and ever” (Revelation 5:13b; NASB). Also, the angels standing around the throne and around the elders and the four living creatures, are seen reverently worshiping You (see Revelation 7:11). Saying, “Amen, blessing and glory and wisdom and thanksgiving and honor and power and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen” (Revelation 7:12; NASB).

Today, our worship of You is characterized by shouting

Today, our worship of You is characterized by shouting, screaming, and showmanship, with very little substance. O that You would restore us to the true worship of You in spirit and truth! The kind of worship in which You yourself are exalted and extolled. The kind of worship in which You Yourself are praised and promoted! Honored and held in high regard! Magnified and made the center and focus! Yes, the kind of worship that’s pure and passionate!

LORD, we pray for Your Church

Also, LORD, we pray for Your Church, to wait for You in such a time as this. Waiting for You must mark the life of Your Church. Our Lord Jesus instructed His first disciples, “not to leave Jerusalem, but to wait for what the Father had promised” (Acts 1:4; NASB). Although, the disciples had been with the Lord Jesus for three years, yet they needed to wait until they receive power. That is, the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit – to be Christ’s effective witnesses (see Acts 1:8). Similarly, Your Church today must wait for You, our LORD and LEADER, to guide and direct her into Your plans and purposes. Therefore, we pray to You, O LORD and LEADER of the Church! Empower Your Church today to wait for Your leading and direction! Please, deliver Your Church from running ahead of You and running the show! Running ahead of You and running the show – by leaning on our own puny little understanding, do not achieve Your goals for Your Church.

Wise and Wonderful Father,…enable Your Church to walk with You

As well, Wise and Wonderful Father, as 2025 draws to a close, enable Your Church to walk with You. Indeed, You are more interested in our personal walk with You, than in our projects done for You. When King Solomon built the greatest building of his day, You made clear to him Your main concern. That is, his personal walk with You. Not his projects for You. “As for you, if you walk before Me as your father David walked, even to do according to all that I have commanded you…then I will establish your royal throne as I covenanted with your father David…But if you turn away and forsake My statutes and My commandments which I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will uproot you from My land which I have given you, and this house which I have consecrated for My name I will cast out of My sight and I will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples (2 Chronicles 7:17-20; NASB). Similarly, if Your Church today will not walk before You as the early disciples walked, You’ll cast out of Your sight our cherished projects and make them a byword.

We pray for Your Church

In addition, we pray for Your Church to be diligently and devoutly watching for Jesus’ return. Our Lord Jesus Himself commanded His early disciples to a disciplined life of watching for His coming. “Therefore, be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming. But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into. For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will” (Matthew 24:42-44; NASB). We confess to You that we are not diligently watching for the coming of Christ. To be honest, we are diligently watching for the kick of the 2026 World Cup than for Christ’s coming. Therefore, we ask that Your Spirit will convict us and correct our priority in life.

LORD, we pray

Also, LORD, we pray that Your Church’s witness of Christ will be vibrant and vigorous in such a time as this. We thank You for the example of the first disciples – whose witness of Christ was so vibrant and vigorous that the world took notice of them. They shouted: “These men who have turned the world upside down have come here also” (Acts 17:6; ESV). O may Your Church’s witness of Christ be such that the world could not help, but take notice of her! Paul and Silas did their part. It’s now our turn to be vibrant and vigorous in our witness of Christ! For then, we will bear fruit that will remain!

Wise and Wonderful Father, we pray for Your world

And now, Wise and Wonderful Father, we pray for Your world. We thank You for Your agape love for the world. A love that seeks Your very best for them – both in this life and in the life soon to come. In fact, it was our Lord Jesus Himself who confidently and convincingly declared Your agape love for the world. “For God so loved [egapesen: from the verb agapao] the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life” (John 3:16; NASB). O Lord, what You require of the people of the world, is for them to believe in Your Son Jesus Christ. Since, believing in Your Son, is a divine activity, we fervently pray. Please, grant the people of the world the want-to to believe in Jesus Christ, the Lord and Savior of sinners.

We are so glad and grateful

Truly, we are so glad and grateful, that You, O LORD, do not delight in the death of the wicked. Your delight, Your desire, is that the wicked will turn from his wicked way and live. “As I live, declares the LORD God, I take no pleasure in the death of the wicked, but rather that the wicked turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! Why then will you die, O house of Israel?” (Ezekiel 33:11; NASB). Moreover, Your word clearly and convincingly reveals to us that You are not desiring for sinners to perish. But for them to repent.

The Lord is not slow about His promise

“The Lord is not slow about His promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance” (2 Peter 3:9; NASB). Therefore, LORD, we pray that Your Spirit will touch the hearts of unbelievers! Not only that, we also pray that Your Spirit will bring them to the point of turning from their evil ways, to Jesus. As well, we pray that You, O LORD, will grant them “the repentance that leads to life” (Acts 11:18; NASB).

O LORD, we thank You

O LORD, we thank You that even if one sinner repents, there is great rejoicing in heaven. The Lord Jesus Himself taught this truth to His first disciples in His parables in Luke 15. “Just so, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than ninety-nine righteous persons who need no repentance” (Luke 15:7; cf. 15:10; ESV). We pray that, as 2025 draws to a close, there will be joy before the angels of God over sinners who are repenting. Since we know that it’s Your will that sinners repent, we’re confident that You will answer this specific prayer.

Wise and Wonderful Father, Your are the beginning and the end

O Wise and Wonderful Father, You are “the beginning and the end” (Revelation 21:6). You began 2025 with us. And now, You are also ending it with us. You have been with us through the many trials we encountered in its first eleven months. And You will be with us through whatever trials You may permit into our lives in its last month. Yes, You have carried us and cared for us in its first eleven months. And You will carry us and care for us in its last month. You have demonstrated Your unconditional love to us till this very day. And You will continue to demonstrate this love to us to the very end. And yes, You have delivered us from many evils till this very day. Indeed, You will continue to deliver us from all evil and bring us safely to Your heavenly kingdom. “Who is like You among the gods, O LORD? Who is like You, majestic in holiness, awesome in praises, working wonders?” (Exodus 15:11; NASB).

Wise and Wonderful Father, there is none like You

Wise and Wonderful Father, there is none like You among the gods of the nations. You are the God who accomplishes what concerns us. It’s You who will bring about Your beautiful and bountiful blessings for Israel – Your chosen and cherished people. Yes, it’s You who will carry out Your compassionate and caring counsels and concerns for Your Church – Your consecrated and called-out believers. As well, it’s You who will do according to all Your desires and designs for Your world in December 2025 and beyond. We pray all this in the blessed and beautiful name of Jesus – Your Begotten Son and our Blessed Savior. Amen!
